Spotlight on Henley Shop – La Casa

  • La Casa Henley

La Casa at 34 Hart Street opened in September and is run by Melanie Free.  The gallery name is  Spanish for “The House” and the shop sells a beautiful array of Spanish ceramics perfect for any home.

Melanie sources the ceramics from a pottery in the Catalonia region of Spain where she has visited and worked for over 30 years.  She personally oversees and  selects the range of hand made and hand painted items for the Henley shop.  As you can see from the photos above, the range is rich in stunning Mediterranean colours of oranges and red.  The small dishes start at just £9 and the range includes vases, candle holders and fruit bowls.  There are also some fantastic large statement pieces including planters, which would look great in entrance halls or conservatories. Melanie said, “I am delighted to be able to bring these unique Spanish ceramics back to UK – giving customers the opportunity to have a little bit of Spain in their homes.”

Outside of work Melanie enjoys reading, music, visiting the theatre, playing bridge and most of all travelling.  She has daughters and grandchildren in both Dubai and Australia so trys to get out to see them whenever she can.

La Casa also stocks a small range of gift items too including some unusual race horses, penguins and hen figurines which would make really nice presents.

Once inside the shop you will also discover that downstairs there is a contemporary art gallery of large abstract original oils on canvas.

If you’re looking for something different this Christmas, why not pop in and see Melanie at La Casa?
