Great Company, Curry and Conversation

Over 50 business women from the Henley area got together for the Henley Women of Inspiration (HWIN) Christmas Curry networking lunch this week at Henley Cricket Club.

The HWIN Group on LinkedIn is a free online group on LinkedIn in which businesswomen can share, interact and discuss business-related issues.  The Group was founded by Lindsay McLoughlin, local copywriter/blogger and LinkedIn Trainer from ProofedbyLinds.  The Group now holds two events a year, the Christmas Curry in partnership with The CookCurry Club and one at the Henley Women’s Regatta in June.

At this week’s event Liz Balmford, from Your Best of You, treated the guests to a presentation on ‘Other People’s Voices’ and how these might affect how you do business and unmasking the real you.  She ended her presentation with a quote from Steve Maroboli, “There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a person being themselves. Imagine going through your day being unapologetically you.”

Lindsay said afterwards, “The Henley Women of Inspiration’s Christmas Curry is a mix of informal networking and a quality presentation, followed by a scrummy curry. Kran Sondh from The CookCurry Club did us proud once again with a three-course curry which one lady described as ‘sublime’. Career and Confidence Coach, Liz Balmford’s words about staying true to yourself reverberated around the room from the ladies who attended. It’s been a magnificent day, and I can’t wait to do this all over again next Christmas!”
