Malcolm Page, Chair of the Henley Borama Friendship Group invited the Mayor, Councillor Lorraine Hillier to meet a group of four Somalis who were visiting the town last Thursday. The men are all originally from Borama, but are now resident in UK and are UK citizens.
They’d come to Henley to request a re-run of the successful “Borama Comes to Henley” event that was held in the Market Place and the Old Fire Station in June 2014 – read the story here
Malcolm said, “I was delighted that the Mayor agreed to their proposal of an event on in July (date to be announced) but this time based on the Band Stand at Mill Meadow – for a few hours. There will be lots of singing, dancing and drumming.”
