Oxfordshire County Councillor Leader, Cllr Ian Hudspeth, is visiting as many Children’s Centres as possible in the County to see the facilities and meet staff and users.
Henley’s County Councillor, David Nimmo Smith joined him in Henley and Sonning Common this week. The Henley Rainbow centre is run from the D:2 centre in Market Place and the Sonning Common one from Chiltern Edge School.
David said, “Discussions were held in both centres with the staff, parents and Nomad, as part of the process of engaging positively with communities about future delivery of children’s services. The children were more interested in having a healthy lunch and playing games with us. No decision will be taken about the cuts in Children Centre services until the County budget is set on 16 February, and no change will take place until 1 October 2016.”
