Oxford Children’s Hospital Delighted to Receive Donation

The Oxford Children’s Hospital were delighted to receive a cheque from Councillors Dave Eggleton and Lorraine Hillier last week for £465 which had been raised through a Gainsborough Residents’ Easter Raffle organised by Dave, a donation from Soha Housing (£100) and £90 raised by Donna Xanthidis who works at Invesco Perpetual from a Christmas party for staff’s families.

Dave and Lorraine travelled to the hospital together on Dave’s bike again like they did for the Toy Run at Christmas to present the cheque.  The money will be used for buying art and craft materials for the children to enjoy.

Donna gave some of her son’s toys to the Gainsborough Residents’ Toy Run at Christmas and then decided to raise some money for the hospital too.

Dave said, “I’d like to thank Boots, Sainsbury’s and Tesco for donating the items for the hampers for the raffle.  I think its really good to do something for charity.  I believe everyone should do something as it would have a knock on effect.  Just little things can mean a lot to people.”
