The Henley in Bloom committee organised a great first community Activity Day in Market Place last weekend with many town councillors helping out.

Local band, Crossfire Hurricanes provided the music and there were stalls for children to enjoy which included arts and crafts, plant a seed, face painting and decorating lavender biscuits.  The lavender was kindly donated by Invesco Perpetual.  There was also a fun historical Henley game (identifying old buildings and places) for adults to enjoy which was organised by the Henley Archaeological & Historical Group.

Members from Henley in Transition and Henley Allotments also attended and had a stall.  They were delighted to talk to people about their projects and initiatives which included tackling the air pollution in the town.

Kellie Hinton, Chair of the HiB Committee said, “It was a really fantastic day before the rain arrived.  It was fun way for councillors to interact and connect with residents – it was just about potholes and housing!”
