Four legged friends joined in the Halloween fun last night in the first Naughty Mutt Nice Halloween Fancy Dress Dog competition outside their shop on Station Road.
The winner was Dino, an 8 year old, long haired Chihuahua owned by Angela Kerr from Hambledon who dressed him up as spider. Angela said, “I am delighted to win. I wanted to dress Dino in something different that wasn’t too scary. He wasn’t bothered at all about wearing the costume and he certainly turned heads on the way here tonight.”
There was an array of costumes which saw the dogs dressed as pumpkins, a bat, zombie bride and a large St Bernard dressed as a princess who came runner up. Every entry received a doggy bag treat and a nail cut voucher and the winner won a voucher for a free groom.
Aspen Weatherburn who runs Naughty Mutt Nice said, “I’m amazed at the turnout. I knew a few dogs were coming but I never imagined this many for the first year. I’d like to thank everyone for coming and making such a fantastic effort. It proves once again that the people of Henley just love their dogs. Will definitely do the event again next year.”
