Winter Sporting Supper and Savills Donation Kick Starts Changing Room Fund

On Friday, 10 March, Henley Rugby Club supporters and sponsors enjoyed an excellent evening at Dry Leas for their annual Winter Sporting Supper, sponsored by long-standing supporters of the club, Hobbs of Henley. Guests were treated to a fabulous three course dinner and entertainment from both MC and Comedian, Adger Brown and BBC Radio 5 Live commentator, Pat Murphy. A considerable sum of money was raised through wonderful auction prizes for the new changing facilities at Dry Leas – the next phase of development following the successful transformation of the Clubhouse last year.

On the pitch, whilst a spirited Hawks went down 38-28 to League Leaders, Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday, off the pitch, the club was buoyed by a £1,000 donation from local sponsors, Savills. For every house that is sold by a member of the Club through Savills, the Estate Agents kindly donates £1,000 to Henley RFC.  Pictured above are Mike Trethewey, Henley RFC Chairman (left) receiving the cheque from Nick Warner of Savills.
