Brownies Help Gardening Buddies to Plant Out Barrels

1st Henley Brownies helped the Gardening Buddies replant the wooden barrels on the corner of Grey’s Road at their meeting on Thursday evening.

Before re-planting the Brownies had to weed and dig out the old tulips before they chose some new plants for the summer which included Geranium, Cosmos, Bucopia white and mauve. As well as planting the Brownies did a bit of litter picking in the area.

Michaela Clarke, Brownie Leader said, “I am always keen for the Brownies to get involved in community projects and asked the Henley in Bloom committee if we could help out somewhere.  This was a perfect location as we meet not far away in Harpsden Hall and afterwards the girls enjoyed some outdoor activities on Gillotts Field.

Liz Hodgkin, Chair of the Gardening Buddies said, “It is always lovely to garden with children and the Brownies showed a real interest in what was being planted and especially liked “finding” the tulip bulbs!”
