Children Take Part in New World Record Attempt for a Mass Sponsored Walk

St. Mary’s school children took part in the annual Walk 4 Wildlife, an event that raises money for animal charities.

This year tens of thousands of school children joined them to take part in a mass sponsored walk at schools and other venues all over the UK, hoping to set a new Guinness™ World Record on Friday 19 May. So far the number who have registered their walk is 17,535.

Each school could choose their own wildlife charity and St Mary’s chose Butterfly Conservation.  The children walked from the school in St Andrews Road down to the river and along the towpath.
