Air Cadets Assist at Henley Triathlon

On Sunday 4th June, a contingent of air cadets from 447 (Henley) Squadron  assisted organisers of the Henley Triathlon at Henley Leisure Centre and Gillotts School. The six cadets manned water stations, prepared medals and handed out the awards to the hardy competitors as they reached the finish line. The supervising staff from 447, Squadron Warrant officer Seb Miller and Civilian Instructor Alex Hearn-Phillips both received praise from the organisers for the hard work and commitment of the cadets.

WO Miller said “The cadets performed brilliantly throughout the day, kept smiling and their work-rate never slowed. An excellent day!”

447 (Henley) Squadron are fast becoming the ‘go to’ cadet service for local community help. From car parking and marshalling events, helping at the May Fair, stake-boat crew at the Henley Women’s Regatta, to helping provide a guard of honour for a local BEM recipient, 447 are always happy and willing to help where possible. Service to the community is extremely high on their list of priorities. If you are age 12 (year 8) to 16 years, interested in adventurous activities, flying, gliding and have a strong sense of community spirit you can join.
