Ahead of the main event this October, Henley Literary Festival is hosting a pop-up day at Danesfield House Hotel & Spa this Sunday (June 25th), with a lifestyle theme.
The Grade 11 listed home – which is surrounded by 65 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland – is the venue for a double bill of in-conversation events which serves as a precursor for this October’s Festival, where speakers will include Russell Brand, Joanne Harris, Michael Morpurgo, Vince Cable and June Sarpong.
At 1pm entrepeneur and wellbeing expert Liz Earle will share recipes and tips from her 6-week plan from her new book The Good Gut Guide. Then at 3pm Faraway Foods for the Modern Menu sees two highly rated young cooks discuss the very varied cuisines from their respective families home nations: Andrew Wong, founder of London’s popular A.Wong restaurant, will explain just how broad Chinese food actually is and how we can make it at home; while Lope Ariyo, tipped by The Guardian to help West African food cross over into the UK, will discuss Nigerian cooking as well as Hibiscus, one of the most anticipated cookery books of 2017.
Programming director Tom Ryan told the Henley Herald: “We’re delighted to be coming to such a beautiful venue with three such interesting authors.”
Visitors to the events can also enjoy a free glass of Champagne when booking in for lunch or afternoon tea. More information and booking can be found on www.henleyliteraryfestival.co.uk or by calling 01491 575948.
