Established in 1906, Phyllis Court is a private members club on the River Thames in Henley.
Phyllis Court has excellent facilities, cuisine and relaxing riverside accommodation. It has a membership of 3000.
From 2018, members and guests will have access to a new Fitness Centre. It will be fully equipped with a swimming pool, gym, saunarium, exercise studio, treatment rooms and changing rooms.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced full time Financial Controller from within the Club, Hospitality, Hotel or similar industry.
The Financial Controller will be responsible for the overall management and control of the accounts department, safeguarding the financial stability and viability of the Club. The successful individual will be a knowledgeable and strategic manager capable of providing the Senior Management Team and board with financial information, including accounts, forecasts and trends, to assist and advise in the strategic management of the Club.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing monthly management accounts including all period-end adjustments and calculation of Key Performance Indicators;
Responsible for Financial Planning within the organisation;
Managing the Accounts Department team;
Responsible for Club’s IT systems and systems development;
Acting as the Company Secretary of the Club’s limited company;
A full and active member of the Senior Management Team.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a current Financial Controller in the Service or Hotel industry, professionally qualified with at least 10 years’ experience, and with the drive and ambition to make a success of this important role. You should be someone who likes to take a hands-on approach, is highly organised, IT literate, and can work effectively within a busy environment.
