Families and friends enjoyed a knock out barbecue thanks to YMCA and Nomad on Monday evening on the YMCA sports ground. This was the fourth year that the two organisations had partnered to put on this great summer event.
The inflatable slide, obstacle course, bouncy castle and the boxing ring were hugely popular with all the youngsters in the sunshine. Everyone could enjoy free hot dogs and burgers from the barbecue and there was a drink, cake and sweets stall too.
Sue Prior of Nomad said, “We’re delighted to work with YMCA in partnership to set up this event for the community to enjoy.”
Lisa Grant from YMCA said, “Once again it was a great success, helped by the fact that the sun shone unlike past years. There was a fantastic turnout from both residents of the YMCA and the surrounding local community. Many enjoyed the variety of inflatable entertainment available and the sight of the mayor and her consort strutting their stuff on the bouncy castle. Nomad staff did a sterling job on the BBQ and the penny sweet stall kept the YMCA Manger counting all afternoon. Feedback from families and the young people that attended was very positive. All concerned look forward to doing more of these events in the future. Both Henley YMCA and Nomad would like to thank Greensquare for their sponsorship of the BBQ and the Mosawi Foundation for their refreshment support.”
