Situation Vacant – Property Maintenance Officer


SCP 18-27  £18,070 – £24,174

We are seeking an organised, motivated and enthusiastic individual, to help us provide a first class customer service within the Town Hall and its community buildings. This position requires the provision of caretaking, security and maintenance of the Town Council’s property to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will have experience of health and safety; risk assessments; security and good working practice for the on-going maintenance of some of the finest listed buildings in Henley. The appearance of the buildings – inside, outside and the surrounding area will be your direct responsibility. There will be some outside grounds work at the Fairmile Cemetery.

The post-holder will work as part of a team to ensure that all bookings in Town Council buildings are organized in a professional and friendly manner. The post-holder will also assist with bookings in the chapel and cemetery.

This is a varied role where excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with security and safety issues is essential. You should have the ability to work independently and constructively as part of a team – often out of office hours as the role develops.

This is a full time position –  but due to the nature of the Town Council functions – you will be expected to work out of office hours – in evenings and weekends. Overtime – or time off in lieu – will be negotiated.
