Boathouse Restaurant Wins AA Notable Wine List award

Shaun Dickens at the Boathouse, Henley’s waterfront restaurant serving modern British cuisine, has won the AA’s 2017-18 Notable Wine List Award.

The wine list chosen by sommelier Chiara Sieni reached the final round of the AA wine award and was chosen from over 1,000 wine lists based on the overall quality of its wine selection and presentation.

Chiara started her sommelier career in 2013 in London at the Wine and Spirit Trust school before joining the Gordon Ramsey company Petrus. Her experience includes working at the renowned Bibendum restaurant in Chelsea before joining Shaun Dickens at the Boathouse.

Owner and head chef Shaun Dickens said, “Chiara and our passionate front of house team work tirelessly to produce an exciting wine list, balancing unusual styles, grapes and regions with classics at fantastic value. Chiara has a wonderful appreciation of the harmony that can be achieved between our menu and the wines we offer and hand-picks those of an outstanding quality and interest. We’re thrilled that the restaurant, and Chiara in particular, has been recognised with this prestigious award.”

Sommelier Chiara Sieni said, “Since joining the restaurant earlier in the year I have loved working with such a strong team, lovely guests and to have been able to express myself through the wine list we offer. Shaun’s menu is exquisite and so it is a great responsibility to create a wine list to complement it and it is terrific to have been recognised with this award.”
