The goals were all created from some great passing in midfield or from crosses out wide. Through the game Henley always looked to pass the ball forward to players in advanced positions, and played some great passes through to Lukhanyo.
Elliot, Lewis, Toby and Liam gave the opposition only 2 shots on goals – in other games the Hawks might have kept a ‘clean sheet’.
In midfield, Matt, Harry, Tom and Cameron shielded the defence well, and played some cracking passes forward. Matt got 2 goals, hit the post and could probably have had a couple more. Tom ran and tackled (mostly fairly), and played some super balls around Whitley Wood’s defence. Harry ran well done the left and will certainly score some goals as the season progresses, as will Cameron.
Man of the match was Lukhanyo who scored 4 goals and brilliantly harried the defence.
