Award winning Henley artist Camilla Dowse is opening her studio on 2 and 3 December from midday until 6pm both days in Singers Lane (off Vicarage Road). Camilla’s neighbour, local artist Genevieve French, will also be opening her studio for the weekend where you’ll be able to see original paintings and a range of signed limited edition prints.
The two day event will feature small paintings and drawings, including rarely seen life and still life paintings that aren’t available from galleries, as well as one or two new paintings of Henley-on-Thames.
Since being named Artist of the Year by Artists & Illustrators Magazine in 2014, Camilla’s urban landscapes have continued to capture the imagination of galleries and curators throughout the UK. Camilla has recently been shortlisted for the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition for the second time, and for the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition where this year artworks were selected by the artist Anne Magill and the actress and collector Miranda Richardson. At the prize giving preview in London last week Camilla went on to win one of the top three prizes: ‘The Chairman’s Purchase Prize’ for her painting ‘Sussex Place W2’
