Pedestrian Hit by Car at Entrance to Christ Church Centre

An elderly gentleman who was crossing the Christ Church Centre drive way on Reading Road was hit by a car turning into the centre on Friday morning (5 January).

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said, “We were called at around 9.55am to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. The ambulance service were also in attendance and took the injured pedestrian to hospital.”

Vanessa Bird, Centre Manager at the CCC, said “The car which was turning in knocked the elderly gentleman to the ground.  He was taken to Royal Berks with a fractured skull and some cracked vertebrae. Our Minster, Glyn Millington, is going to visit the gentleman this week.”

We hope the gentleman makes a full and speedy recovery.
