Olympian Inspires Children with Tales of Training and a Kangeroo

The River & Rowing Museum were delighted to welcome gold medal winning Olympic rower Tom Ransley MBE to their Learning Centre on Weds 14th March.  Tom is a former Cambridge Blue, with an impressive record of rowing success, much of which has been spent in the men’s eight, the boat in which he won Oylmpic gold in Rio and bronze at London 2012.     He delighted children from St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Maidenhead with tales of his training regime, calorie intake and even encounters with a kangaroo!

Helen Cook, Head of Learning, River & Rowing Museum: “We were thrilled that Tom was able to spare the time from his gruelling training regime to join us at the Museum and inspire our school group with exciting stories of training, competing and winning.”
