Serious Head Injury to Elderly Gentleman After Fall in Greys Road Car Park

An elderly gentleman fell and seriously hit his head yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) about 2.30pm in Greys Road car park.

Ambulance services treated him at the scene for over an hour and took him off on a stretcher to the Royal Berks hospital.

Councillor Will Hamilton was at the scene when it happened and ran to the Town Hall to get a first aid box.  Will said, “The gash to the gentleman’s head was large and he was concussed to start with.  It was thought he might have an injury to his spine so we did the right thing by not moving him.  Laurence Plant and a colleague from Athlete Service who are based in the Greys Road car park also helped me before the ambulance service arrived.”
