Henley Property Blog – Making the Most of your Outdoor Space

Is your house on the market? Have you been on the market for longer than a month? It’s time to take a long hard look at your outdoor photos.

Think back to just a month ago, when we were still appeared to be in the midst of winter and although the daffodils had popped out to greet the intermittent Spring sunshine, the leaves on the trees were still in bud and the blossom was just beginning. If you launched your property to market in late March or even early April, the likelihood is that your garden shots are gloomy and dull. Any outdoor space is an added bonus to a potential buyer and as such it should work hard for you in attracting an offer. Look at the difference these updated shots make to these properties:

If you happen to have patio doors, French doors or even Bi-Fold doors open them up and take a shot through to the garden, it can make a property increase in size visually and invite the outside in.

Equally, it is important at this time of year to sell the ‘lifestyle’ that your garden can offer. An applicant viewing your house needs to be seduced by the idea of a summer BBQ with friends or outdoor dining with a glass of wine as the sun shines on. Take some time to stage your outdoor shots with a bottle of wine and some glasses or a tray of tea and some scones on an outdoor table and work with your photographer to get the best shot. Here are some of our latest ‘lifestyle’ images for some inspiration.
