On Saturday 16 June, join Shiplake Community Choir and the amazing, internationally-renowned Ferio Saxophone Quartet for a fabulous evening of music at the Christ Church Centre. “Wonderful Tonight” is a light-hearted programme of music featuring Eric Clapton’s hit of the same name plus other favourites such as medleys of Bond themes and Rodgers and Hammerstein tunes. Shiplake Community Choir is an initiative of Shiplake College and is conducted by founder-director Louise Rapple Moore.
Ferio Saxophone Quartet (feriosax.co.uk) are acclaimed as one of the leading British saxophone quartets and have performed all over the UK and worldwide. They will be playing pieces from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story and music by Piazzolla and JS Bach. Louise said, “They are wonderful to listen to and watch and we are delighted to have persuaded them to come and perform with us here in Henley.”
Profits from the evening’s entertainment will go to local charity The Chiltern Centre, which supports and offers respite care for disabled children and young adults. See www.chilterncentre.org.uk for more details.
Christ Church Henley is a great venue with excellent facilities, right in the middle of Henley and just a few minutes walk from the station. There is some limited parking at the Church itself and the town car parks are nearby.
The concert starts at 7pm and will included an interval with wine and soft drinks. Tickets are £12 (£5 for under-18s) and are available from Louise on email@example.com or 0118 940 5226.
