Gardening Buddies Making Sure Henley is Looking Great for the Summer

Henley Gardening Buddies are well into their summer programme of making sure Henley is looking at its very best.

After working on several sites around the town, last week it tackled the Millennium Garden outside the Kings Arms Barn off the Market Place.

The Buddies are a small group of local ladies who willingly give up their free time to tend a number locations in Henley, including Mill Meadows, along the Reading Road and on the land outside the fire station in West Street.

One of the Buddies, Jan Sutton, said: “At this time of the year there is plenty of work that needs to be done to make sure the town is looking at its loveliest. With the Royal Regatta and the Henley Festival approaching, Henley will see a lot of visitors descending on the town so we want to give the very best possible impression.”

This week will see the Gardening Buddies tackle several of the planters around Henley, including those at the entrance to the town at the Tesco roundabout and by the Old Fire Station Gallery.
