Two Golds for Henley Girl Representing GB in Shanghai

Natasha Harris-White has just returned from competing for Great Britain in the World University Rowing Championships in Shanghai and won two golds.

Teams from around the world competed in the sweltering 37 degree heat of Shanghai, facing each other first in heats and then semi finals and finals, over a period of 3 days. In the finals, Natasha was in the GB four which led from the start putting in a strong performance to claim first place and the gold medal by a length. Just 90 minutes later, Natasha was back in a boat as part of the GB women’s 8. Despite scepticism from the commentators that the 4 girls who had already won in the four would not have the strength and energy left to win in the 8 as well, the GB girls proved their point putting in an outstanding performance and successfully took first place against strong opposition from Canada and the USA who took 2nd and 3rd places.

Natasha went to Valley Road and Gillotts Schools, followed by Henley College and Newcastle University. She now rows full time at Leander Club and would like to take this opportunity of thanking all the people who generously sponsored her to help her raise the money to get her to Shanghai.
