Back by popular demand! This half term come along to a free Skateboard Workshop on Thursday 25 October – 3.30pm to 6.30pm at Makins Recreation Ground.
The event will feature demonstrations, competitions and prizes and is available for all skateboarders, scooters and BMX riders.
South Oxfordshire District Council is organising the event with ATB Skateboarding, with support from Henley Town Council and Henley NOMAD.
ATB will lend equipment so those who don’t have skateboards, BMX bikes or longboards can still take part.
The Skatepark sessions are being funded by South Oxfordshire District Council as part of their GO Active Juniors programme which aims to help young people (up to 18) participate in positive activities.
Cabinet member for community services, Cllr Lynn Lloyd said: “We are always trying to think of new ways to encourage people to get active and this has proved a great success.”
Two of South Oxfordshire District Council’s Henley representatives were equally enthusiastic about the event.
Cllr Stefan Gawrysiak said: “It’s great to see this event back as it was such a hit in the summer.”
Cllr Lorraine Hillier said: “The last event had more than 50 young people taking part, with just as many spectators. A great initiative and good to see our skate park proving so popular.”
The skatepark event is free, but for more information please call 01235 422222 or email email@example.com.
