Christmas has come early at the Chiltern Centre for Disabled Children this week thanks to Newtown Car Services who brought toys, games and puzzles worth £450 for the young people at the centre.
The garage in Newtown Road started supporting the Chiltern Centre in September by sponsoring their Bollywood Ball and plan to continue to sponsor and support the charity over the next year. The centre was asked by Newtown to come up with a Wish List for Christmas which included special soft sensory balls.
Philip Mullin, Newtown Car Services Managing Director said, “Being a local company we wanted to support a local charity and the fantastic the work they do here. We are very happy to help out as much as we possibly can locally. Hopefully they will get a lot of enjoyment out of these toys and will bring a bit of brightness to their day. Heather Mullin added, “After coming for a visit to the centre and seeing the fantastic work they do here, we just thought this was the right fit for us.”
Keith Stanning, Chiltern Centre Manager, “A big thank you for these toys. The children and young people in our care will thoroughly enjoy them I’m sure. It’s always warming to know that our local businesses in Henley want to support the Chiltern Centre.”
Liz Deacon, Community Fundraiser said, “There’s more pressure on funding with getting grants so we are relying on the community more and more.”
