Biggest Henley Street Collection for Sue Ryder by Bonds Estate Agent

Bonds Estate Agent were out in Market Place yesterday (Wednesday) doing a street collection for Sue Ryder and raised just over £500 – the most the charity has received during a street collection in Henley.

Bonds have supported Sue Ryder since they launched in 2017 and make a donation of £200 for every house sale and £100 for every letting agreed. Owner Daniel Bond said, “We’d like to thank everyone for their generosity and delighted to have raised so much.  I think it was a good day as there were lots of people out shopping and there was plenty of Christmas spirit with lots of people making generous donations.  We were aiming for £300 (about £100 in each bucket).”

“Lots of people have stopped us today to tell us emotional stories about the support and care Sue Ryder have given their loved ones,” added Senior Property Negotiator, Laura Wilkinson.

Daniel added, “Today also coincides with the launch of Bonds employee charity initiative which will give each staff member a day off every quarter to go and volunteer for a different charity.”  Jane Kennedy who just started working for Bonds in November said, “I’ve decided my first charity is the Salvation Army (SA) as my Grandad was in the fire service in London and the SA gave a lot of their time to the fire service.”

Fern Haynes, Sue Ryder Interim Head of Fundraising said, “We are absolutely delighted that Bonds have decided to support Sue Ryder South Oxfordshire Palliative Care Hub in 2019. The team at Bonds are committed to making a difference in the community and that is exactly what we do here at Sue Ryder. We are currently expanding our outstanding care in South Oxfordshire so we can provide more care for more people in their preferred setting. This new corporate partnership will help raise awareness and funds to support our local services. The team at Bonds have lots of exciting fundraising plans for 2019 and we can’t wait to officially launch the partnership with them in the New Year. We also want to thank everyone who donated to the Christmas collection today.
