Violent Crime, Drug dealing and ASB around the Henley Area
The Henley Neighbourhood team continue to conduct pro-active patrols and will respond to intelligence provided by partners and the community. They say please continue to tell us what you know and they will act upon it!
Rural Crime continues to be an issue which affects our rural community. The police are currently running Operation Migrate, an evidenced based initiative whereby colleagues are patrolling repeat victim locations and the roads in and around those areas to deter and catch offenders. This has resulted in a 65% reduction in offences so far this year which is welcome news, the police will continue to work with partners to drive this figure down further.
A Henley care home had some stolen jewellery returned to their residents. The jewellery, reported stolen last summer, was traced to a pawn shop in Reading and officers were able to return the items to their owners.
During the recent snowy period, young teenagers were seen to enter St Mary’s Church, Hart Street, Henley. Once inside they have caused damage by attempting to play the organ, the extent of the damage caused is yet to be assessed. Candles were also thrown around the church.
