New Restaurant to Open and Clarks to Close

A planning application by Unique Dining Ltd has been submitted to open a new restaurant Crockers Henley in the old Loch Fyne restaurant on Market Place which closed in May 2018.

Unique currently operate Crockers Tring.  A spokesperson for Unique said, “The application for 20 Market Place has yet to be determined so we’re not really in a position to make any formal statement about the opening at this time. Nonetheless, we’re very excited about our plans for Henley.”

Clarks shoe shop in Bell Street will be closing in June when the store’s lease comes up. A spokesperson for Clarks said, “Clarks continually reviews all of its stores to ensure that they are the right size and located in the right areas in order to provide the best possible offering and environment to its customers.

As a result, the lease on our store in Henley-Upon-Thames is not being renewed and the store will cease trading on 17 June 2019. We have a strong duty of care to our employees and are doing everything we can to minimise the impact on our colleagues. All team members are being consulted with and we are exploring all avenues to find them suitable alternatives, including ensuring that they are made aware of roles at other Clarks stores.

Customers can continue to shop from our full range of products online and at our nearby stores in Reading, Maidenhead and Woodley.”
