Halo Crowns Trending for This Year’s Big Social Events

Halo crowns are the latest trend in ladies headwear fashion this year after the Duchess of Cambridge wore one for the first time last year according to Henley’s milliner, Liz Felix who has made many of these for the big forthcoming social events of the year, Ascot and Henley Regatta.

Liz said, “Halo crowns are very easy to wear and are very comfortable.  I can make them to order to match any outfit.  Other popular styles are the button and disc hats and the popular colours this year are lime green and chartreuse (darker green).

In the last few years, Liz’s profile has really taken off since she has made many hats for Prime Minster, Theresa May for special occasions including two for the recent state visit by Donald Trump to the UK.

Liz’s beautiful hats and fascinators are made from scratch in Liz’s workshop at the back of the shop using traditional materials and methods. She mainly uses sinamay (a straw like material) which is then soaked and moulded over hat blocks, dried, ironed and stiffened.

Liz offers all her clients advice and a fitting service.  She commented, “You don’t want to be holding your hat on all day and I offer advice on which hats suit their face shapes and how to wear them.”

As well as hats, Liz’s shop on Reading Road is stocked with more bags, accessories and dresses than ever before.  She has some lovely Michaela Louisa and Hell Bunny dresses plus gorgeous leather or suede clutch bags in a rainbow of colours to match your outfit.  All big enough to hold your mobile phone! There’s also a big range of panama and boater hats available for men.
