Richard Browning, (founder and chief test pilot at Gravity Industries) the real-life Iron Man will fly at the Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival on Sunday (14 July) in Henley in a jet-propelled suit he has developed himself. The swim event is set to welcome over 1,200 swimmers, and thousands of spectators, as they take on a variety of swim distances and enjoy a British summer day by the river next to Temple Meadows. The real-life Iron Man will join spectators and swimmers at 1pm with a flight by the side of the river demonstrating the innovative 1000 bhp Jet Suit.
Richard Browning is a former triathlete and has said it’s a privilege to be taking part in the event, albeit in his case keeping dry! He requires an incredible level of fitness to be able to fly and control the suit.
Henley Swim co-founder, Tom Kean, enthuses: “We are so excited to welcome the real-life Iron Man to our swim festival event. This year we have a bumper programme of swims and entertainment for all the family and this flying demonstration will be a great addition to the aspirational activity and awe-inspiring performances we will be set to witness.”
