Rosie Tong, a professional dancer from Henley, is returning to town to hold a one-day dance workshop on 29th August alongside her small, emerging company. It is aimed at 9 – 14 year olds and will be based on their current piece, which premiered at Nordern Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead, earlier this year.
Rosie, who has danced professionally in the U.K, Italy and Germany, said “I’m really happy to have the opportunity to work with some of the young people in Henley. Everyone is welcome as, although the focus will be contemporary, no contemporary – or other – dance experience will be necessary as we will work in groups and adapt the level to everyone who signs up. The emphasis of the workshop will very much be on having fun, so I’m sure it will be an enjoyable and constructive day.”
Participants will do a class, learn some of the company’s work and do a creative session – all with two professional dancers and a live musician. The cost is £25 and £20 for siblings.
