On the Beat… Henley Police Update for July

During July a number of local young people have been spoken to concerning ASB, drug and alcohol use in the Makins Recreation Park. Three young people were issued with warning letters, as the first step of intervention in their behaviour. The neighbourhood team continue to routinely patrol Henley skate-park and play area to combat ASB, drug use and drug supply.

Officers carried out routine drug swabbing of a number of rooms at the Henley YMCA and on 29 July officers seized a quantity of cannabis from a male in the town centre.  Cannabis was sent for destruction.

During the first two weeks, there were several reports to police of a male sleeping in the grounds of a primary school in Henley. The male was identified – investigation on-going.

The neighbourhood teams are now focusing their efforts on tool thefts and looking at preventative steps to make tools and property identifiable. In July there were items stolen from properties in Shiplake Bottom and Adam Court, Henley.

On Monday 29 July PCs Taylor & Betts and PCSO’s Wyatt & Apps attended a five year old child’s 999 call for assistance; a parent and younger child had become locked in the bathroom and were unable to open the door.  The family were released and reunited.

To get in touch with any information on these or other crimes email HenleyNHPT@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk or call 101.  For emergencies call 999.

PCSO Chris Wyatt & PCSO Chris Apps will be available to talk to on  Tuesday 13 August in Market Place, Henley from 10am – 11am.
