Friends of Badgemore School (FOBS) are delighted to invite the local community to join them at a Tabletop Sale this Saturday, 12 October between 12.30-3.30pm. Both parents at the school and members of the community will be selling good quality pre-loved clothes, toys, books, homeware and more. Not only does the sale help to raise valuable funds for the school and offer local people the chance to bag a bargain but it also fits in to Badgemore’s strong environmental ethos. As awareness both globally and locally increases about the environmental cost of consumerism, a move towards this sort of sustainable purchasing is both necessary and exciting.
There are a limited number of tables still available at just £10 (which goes directly to FOBS to support school activities and facilities). Anyone interested in selling items should contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Harriet Barcella, parent and a member of FOBS said, “FOBS is made up of a dedicated group of parents who aim to raise funds that will enhance the education and facilities at Badgemore. Activities such as this tabletop sale help us to do that. This year we are also focused on ensuring that, as much as possible, our events and activities build on the school’s commitment to the environment and this feels like a great fit. Consumerism and fast fashion are major contributors to our current environmental difficulties and buying pre-loved items is a wonderful way to combat this. Plus you’re sure to get a bargain! We hope to see lots of local people there.”
