Henley Probus October Meeting

The Chairman inducted a new member to the Club, welcomed a new Secretary and also reported that all arrangements had been put in place for the Christmas lunch which will be held on 10 December.

After the Club’s normal business had been completed, the speaker Michael Spong, a member of Henley Probus Club, gave a  talk about his life in Civil Engineering. This turned out to be a fascinating account spanning the time from leaving school, becoming a Chartered Engineer and then working in various and well known companies both in the UK and Middle East. The talk was occasionally very humorous despite the many difficult operational issues encountered in that sector of the business.

At the close of the meeting, Michael was given a warm vote of thanks for his talk by the members.

Forthcoming events for the Club include a visit to the Mill at Sonning in January to attend Singing in the Rain and a visit to the tulip fields in Holland in April 2020
