Henley Rugby Club were recently presented with Chris Sharman-Crawford’s shirt in a frame by his family. Chris sadly passed away last year and was a true Henley RFC Club stalwart playing for the first team in the 60s/70s.
Chris Reeves who presented the shirt said, “Chris was a fast, balanced try-scoring machine. A superb winger who continued to support the Club long after his retirement. He was at first a groundsman, mowing and marking out pitches, and then helped the Club financially at a time when the Club’s future was by no means certain. The Shed group of supporters have very kindly presented a shirt to the Club on behalf of Chris’s wife, Rita that will honour Chris’s contribution as a true Club stalwart, a member of the exclusive 100 cap club, that sadly he was unable to receive due to his untimely passing. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.”
