The new Henley Basket website has been launched today to provide a one-stop shop window for all our central Henley independent shops and hospitality businesses whilst they continue to be closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Prime Minister announced last night that shops would close until at least the start of June.
Customers can browse the range of products and services available in each store and can purchase via telephone or email using a card or BACS transfer. Each shop gives their details, how they accept payment and whether delivery or collection is offered.
So far 14 businesses have joined the Henley Basket including Stocks, Estilo, David Rodger Sharp jewellers, Machins and Henley Scan with lots more to follow this week.
The website is free to list on and Henley Town Council will create the shop’s listing initially and business owners can then update their gallery of products or services they offer themselves or they can get help with this.
Town & Community Manager, Helen Barnett said, “This initiative is working well in Princes Risborough and we hope it will do as well in Henley. The website has been funded by Oxfordshire County Council Covid-19 grant and money from Henley Town Council. The benefit of the website is three-fold. It will support the local retailers and businesses. It will help vulnerable people who aren’t able to leave their homes and it will encourage people to shop local rather than purchase from other online stores.”
