Last week John Smith of Vicarage Road, Henley appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court for allegedly flashing a knife across his chest at drivers in Bell Street on 25 June.
It is alleged that at 8.20am, the 24-year-old crossed the road in front of two drivers who saw him move the knife from his pocket to his chest and under his arm. He is also accused of using threatening, abusive and insulting words to cause alarm on the same day to what is thought to be one of the drivers.
He told the court, “I understand the charges, but I am not guilty.”
Mr Smith has now been given unconditional bail until his case management hearing on 24 July, ahead of a trial at Oxford Magistrates’ Court.
