Home care organisation, BelleVie has recently expanded, adding a Henley-based team to its already established teams in Oxford, Witney, Wantage and Abingdon. The local team of Wellbeing Support Workers are now available to support people to live well in their own homes in Henley and the surrounding areas.
BelleVie’s CEO and Co-Founder, Dr Trudie Fell, commented: “The care sector is in crisis and it’s widely accepted that the current ‘time-and-task’ model of delivering care is broken. It leaves those being supported feeling like items on a tick list, not human beings; and employees are driven away from what can be a fulfilling, meaningful career. Our model allows carers to focus on the person they’re supporting, rather than on the clock. There is a growing demand for quality care, we are very excited about being able to expand this new way of working to carers and families in the Henley area.”
Henley Wellbeing Support Worker, Charley Lovelock said, “I’ve been working for Bellevie for just over 6 months and I’ve never been happier. The values and care shine throughout our small, local teams, and it feels just like a family. We all work hard to provide the very best care for the people we support, meaning they are able to stay in their own home. I’m very happy to be joining the Henley community and providing the unique BelleVie approach to home care in the local area. Whether it’s to help you prepare healthy meals, completing a puzzle together and having a chat over a cup of tea, or helping with personal care – you can count on us.”
The feedback from those receiving care and their families has been very positive: “The BelleVie team has provided us and our relative with amazing support, especially during the COVID lockdown periods where we have been unable to visit. They have managed and advised on difficult situations and gone far above and beyond usual care agencies, showing honesty and integrity. We are grateful to the care team for their concern and interaction with my step-mother, and with us.”
BelleVie offers care packages tailored to the needs and aspirations of those they support in areas such as companionship, personal care, meal preparation, social life and help around the home. Teams are also trained to offer support to people who are just leaving hospital, and for those with specialist needs such as dementia, Parkinson’s and cancer.
