Magical Adventure of Alice in Wonderland

Rupert House was delighted to once again be able to use the Kenton Theatre for its annual Prep School Production which, this year was their rendition of ‘Alice the Musical’.

The production was livestreamed to parents, due to Covid, but with a live audience of parents of those in Year 6.  The audience was transported on the magical journey of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale with a wonderfully musical twist.  After weeks of rehearsals, the children gave a confident and accomplished performance with the Rupert House Year 6 pupils in the lead roles, supported by children in Years 3 to 5 in the accompanying parts.

Everything from the brightly coloured costumes, to the choice of cast members, made this a production which was both fun and whimsical for all.

Nick Armitage, Head of Rupert House School, said “We were incredibly proud to be the first live production back at the Kenton Theatre since Lockdown was eased.  The experience of working in an actual theatre is of incredible value to our pupils, who are able to see first hand the intricate workings of life in a theatre.  I am incredibly grateful to the Kenton Theatre and their staff; the staff at Rupert House – especially Mrs Breen and Miss Lau; and, of course, our fantastic pupils who gave such a brilliant performance.”

Year 6 student, Allegra said, “It was really exciting because it was our last time singing and performing together and we all got to love our characters” and Lola added, “It was so much fun performing in a proper theatre and using mics and having a real audience, and also great to work together.”
