Cannabis Recovered from Imperial Hotel

Thames Valley Police was called to reports of suspicious activity at the dis-used Imperial hotel in Station Road at around 2.15pm on Sunday (19/9).

The police were seen searching the premises with flashlights on each floor and on Monday men were seen carrying large white bags out of the hotel.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said, “A quantity of cannabis was recovered at the location and investigations are ongoing. No-one was arrested, and anybody who has any information is urged to contact the force on 101, quoting reference number 43210422495.”

The iconic hotel has been closed 2006.  In 2014, the owner Dr Crockett started to restore the hotel but it never reopened.  There are calls by many residents for the owner to sell the hotel or reopen and argue that this would mean that the Premier Inn proposal for the station would not be required.
