Despite the raindrops Henley Quakers were delighted to welcome many visitors to their Snowdrop Sunday at the Friends’ Meeting House at Northfield End last weekend. This secret gem of a garden delighted the visitors with carpet of beautiful white snowdrops in the Quaker burial ground at the far end of the walled garden.
Visitors were then invited to tea and a delicious array of homemade cakes inside the Meeting House. We enjoyed the cakes, particularly the lemon drizzle cake which was sublime!
Diana Barnett from Henley Quakers said, “As usual when we open the garden to the public, Henley friends are pleased to offer tea and homemade cake in the Meeting House which is always appreciated. We were pleasantly surprised by how many people were prepared to turn out on a miserable Sunday afternoon to share our snowdrops and tea. We think there were about 60 visitors over the afternoon – so lovely after not being able to show off our snowdrops last year.”
