Probus Club AGM

The 42nd Annual General Meeting of Henley Probus was held at Badgemore Park yesterday (10 May).  This was the first AGM to be held for 3 years due to the pandemic. The new Chairman, Viv Emerson, welcomed everyone and then invited all present to a minute’s silence for Graham Cross who recently passed away.

There followed a number of reports to the meeting from the President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity secretary, Friendship secretary and Membership secretary.

The Chairman then welcomed 2 new members to the Club.

The President reported that a congratulatory letter had been sent from the Club to the Queen regarding her Platinum Jubilee and that a celebratory Toast to the Queen would take place at the June Probus meeting.

The Chairman then formally closed the AGM and then led an informal discussion covering the importance of fellowship within the Club, the members views on speakers at the future monthly meetings and the members preferences on social events. All of the comments received will be taken into account for the planning for the future, particularly the next 12 months.

Henley Probus meets at Badgemore Park on the second Tuesday of each month; it starts with an informal gathering of its members (plus Visitors) for a discussion and coffee, with the formal meeting commencing at 1130 followed by a lunch. If anyone is interested in joining the Club, please make themselves known to Roger Griffiths our Membership Secretary (01491575137/email regriffiths@waitrose.com) or to any Club member that you may know.
