Registrations Open for Half Marathon & Fun Runs
Registrations are now open for this year’s Half Marathon and Fun Runs organised by Henley Rugby Club taking place on Sunday 9 October.
As well as the Half Marathon and 10K run the event will now have a 5K and 1K routes for children over 5.
The Family Fun Run will start at 08:45, 15 minutes before the start of the main races, and will finish prior to the start of the main categories. Children must be aged 5 or over to participate but buggies (or similar) are permitted for children under 5. Children under 11 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The 36th event will be the first run by Henley Rugby Club and AAT Events after being organised by the Henley Rotary Club for many years who resigned last year because of the aging population of their members.
Chris Nixon, Chair of Henley Rugby Club said, “After many meetings and planning this year’s Henley Half Marathon is launched online today for runners to register for the event. We will host a children’s FUN RUN, 5K, 10K and half marathon. Races will begin from 9.00am. The course takes runners through the town, over Henley Bridge and into the countryside, then back along the Thames towpath back through the town. This then leads to “Heartbreak Hill” the famous climb seen as a personal challenge to some runners and then the descent and flat run back to the rugby club. Road closures now arranged will ensure safe passage for all runners through the town. We look forward to seeing you all at our family community event.”
Fees for the runners are children £10.00, 5K £20.00 10K £30.00 and Half marathon £35.00
