Acorn Music Theatre Presents The Goose Girl and Other Stories
Following the success of last year’s production of Tales for Fairly Grimm Times, Acorn Music Theatre Company returns next week to the beautiful setting of White Pond Farm in the Stonor Valley. With kind permission of the Stracey family, the barn and farmyard will be Acorn’s set for The Goose Girl and Other Stories.
Acorn excels at weaving light and dark into their gruesome tales and this one will not disappoint. This is a tale of the bold and brave, of bad mothers and brothers, sly sisters and maids, and of course, gaggles of geese!
The production has been devised and directed by Acorn’s Artistic Director, Gail Rosier, with lots of creative input from the cast inspired by the brothers Grimm, and Zoe Gilbert. In true, dynamic Acorn style, the stories are physical, bold and boisterous, with original music written by the cast in collaboration with Megan Henwood. Even the poster has a touch of Acorn magic, having been designed by illustrator and Acorn friend, Hannah Firmin.
There will be four performances over three days. Friday 1st July – Sunday 3rd July, including a matinee on Saturday. There will be a licensed bar, and hot food is available to order with your tickets.
