Wilkins Awarded The Royal Warrant

Wilkins of Henley, have been awarded the top accolade of The Royal Warrant for removals and storage.

They are one of only two removal and storage companies to be awarded this special warrant by Her Majesty the Queen.  A Royal Warrant of Appointment is granted as a mark of recognition to people or companies who have regularly supplied goods or services to HM The Queen, or HRH The Prince of Wales or their Households for a minimum of 5 years.

800 companies have currently been presented with The Royal Warrant and they represent a huge cross-section of trade and industry, from individual craftspeople to global multi-nationals, ranging from dry cleaners to fishmongers, and from agricultural machinery to computer software.  The Royal Warrant is issued for a period of 5 years before review.

Oliver Miles, Operations Director at Wilkins of Henley said, “It was a big process to achieve this.  We had to show financial evidence over 5 years that we had worked regularly for the Royal Household and we had to show and meet the sustainability criteria which The Prince of Wales is very focused on.  It meant that we had to put in place many policies to meet this to show the reduction of our carbon footprint.  This was very educational for me and a big eye opener.  The application took a year to review.”

The official, wax sealed certificate has only just been received even though Oliver received an email on 31 March to confirm that Wilkins had been awarded the Royal Warrant.  Wilkins now have the right to display the Royal Arms which they have added to their website, removal lorries and equipment.

On receiving the email Oliver explained, “I’d always wanted this, and to be honest it was bit of disbelief as the email I received was very brief and plain and just said ‘please see the attached for the response to your application’ which led me to believe that we hadn’t been successful but when I opened the attachment I found the details of our warrant.  I just couldn’t take it in at the beginning and then when it sunk in I was full of amazing emotions and was incredibly happy as we had all been working on this for the last few years to achieve.  It was childhood dream to have this for our business.  It’s the pinnacle of my 20 year career so far.”
