Care Home Visit Gets Visit from Panto Cast – Oh Yes They Did!

The residents’ faces at Henley Manor Care home lit up on Wednesday afternoon when they got the chance to meet some of the cast of the Kenton Panto, Aladdin.

Luke Haywood who plays Aladdin, Rebecca Hazel who plays Princes Blossom and Rochelle Parry who plays the Spirit of the Ring dressed in their costumes told the residents about themselves, explained which characters they play and outlined what happens in the show.  Rochelle said, “I love panto as everyone gets so excited.”

Resident Pam enjoyed the visit.  She said, “I used to do a bit of amdram myself.  I like panto as it is fun and the more mistakes they make the more I like it.  I believe we’re the only country that has panto and I’m pleased that the tradition has stayed and is still around.”

Louise Light, Lifestyles Manager at Henley Manor Care Home said, “We’re so happy to see them here today.  It’s all about visionary and colour which is so important with older people as they really respond to it.  We hope that some of the residents will be able to go along and see the show at the Kenton.”

Simon Spearing, Chief Executive at the Kenton Theatre said, “We were delighted to accept the invitation by Henley Manor Care Home for some of the cast to go and meet the residents and to tell them all about the panto and to see their costumes.”
