Scouts provide hot refreshments to sledgers
On Saturday leaders from the 1st Henley Scout group set up a refreshment tent on Drawback Hill, a renowned sledging hotspot.
Leader Derek Harding said: “I came down on Friday night at around 6pm and thought it would be a good thing to do.”
A couple of leaders put up a tent on Saturday morning and they then made bacon rolls and served hot drinks as well as lighting a fire which served as a “warm up zone”.
There were about 200 people on the hill and everyone loved the refreshments.
Derek added “This is about the Scouts trying to provide a service and do something for the community.”
What a lovely idea. Well done 1st Henley Scouts.
