Flipping Good Time Was Had at Mayor’s Pancake Race

Teams braved the horrible weather this morning (Saturday) for the fourth annual Mayor’s Pancake Race in Market Square.  Teams entered from Henley Rotary Club, Henley Lions, Henley Bridge Rotary Club, Sue Ryder, Camp Mohawk, Henley Standard and 1st Henley Brownies.  The fun event raised funds for the Mayor’s chosen charities, the Henley Youth Centre, Camp Mohawk & The 60+ Club.

Teams had to flip their pancakes 4 times along the course and races were run in relay teams.  Lots of tossing and dropping of pancakes took place.

The winners of the children’s race was 1st Henley Brownies ‘The Brownie Bakers’ and the Henley Lions won the adult’s race.

There was also a competition for the silliest hats worn and these were won by the children from Camp Mohawk and Nicky Emms of Henley Bridge Rotary Club and Phil Sims from the Henley Standard.

Pancakes were provided by the Henley Brewhouse and Waitrose.
